Front of House & Events Representative
Part-time. Contract
Wellington Brewery- Guelph, ON

Founded in 1985 in Guelph, we are creatively transforming Ontario’s brewing culture to stand for people and planet. We’re seeking Front of House & Events Representatives to join our team. The Front of House & Promotions Rep is responsible for maintaining a welcoming and educational experience in our Retail Store, Taproom, Patio and Event and Market spaces while always providing amazing customer service. The FOH and Event Representative is a key position with the ideal candidate enjoying working as a part of a team, collaborating with others, has a true passion for craft beer and spirits, and is an ambassador of Wellington’s values and brand.

Key Responsibilities


● Responsible for the overall Wellington Brewery experience of all Front of House guests
● Greeting and welcoming each guest and providing an exceptional experience that is both fun and educational
● Leading scripted and fun guided tours
● Confidently providing structured tastings, building customer confidence and offering suggestions
● Assisting with hosting on-site events and private parties
● Accurately process full goods and merchandise sales
● Closely adhering to daily opening and closing procedures
● Assisting with retail, taproom and event store displays and merchandising
● Rotating beer inventory and stock accordingly
● Continual cleaning and maintaining of the retail, event and outdoor spaces
● Actively participating in maintaining an immaculate and fun workspace
● Attending company meetings and training seminars as required
● Packaging online store orders efficiently and correctly
● Serve food and drinks and make recommendations to our amazing customers
● Opening, setup, closing and tear down of offsite large scale event and market booths
● Upkeep of event vehicle (fuel, cleaning, supplies, walkarounds)
● Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

● Must be able available to work on weekends, mornings, evenings and holidays
● Must be smart serve certified (minimum age 18)
● Must have relevant experience- minimum 1 years in hospitality, ideally in Brewery or working with alcohol
● Must be energetic, enthusiastic and excel working in a team environment
● Experience with mobile POS systems and handling cash/credit/debit card transactions
● Excellent verbal communication, problem solving skills and strong ability to multitask
● Passionate about craft beer
● Any level of Prud’homme or Cicerone beer training would be considered an asset
● Events - Valid G license with a clean driving record, a satisfactory driver abstract will be required

Working Conditions


● Ability to repeatedly lift a minimum of 25lbs and manipulate kegs up to 150lbs safely
● Able to work in extreme heat and cooler temperatures and around propane heaters
● Ability to carry, move, push and pull heavy items safely
● Able to walk, stand and move around for long periods of time
