Beer Bus Named Culinary Tourism Event of the Year

GUELPH, ON - It was a big win for Guelph’s local breweries as the Guelph.Beer Bus was named “Culinary Tourism Event of the Year” at the 2023 Ontario Tourism Summit.
Since the Guelph.Beer Bus started running in 2019, the unique tourism project has provided a safe and fun way for beer lovers to explore the unique brewpubs, beer halls, and tap rooms that the city has to offer. The industry-led initiative uses Guelph Transit buses on select Saturdays to provide free transportation with stops at five of Guelph’s local breweries.
“From quaint brewpubs and regional breweries, to brands with national distribution, we represent the full spectrum of what the business of beer can be. Guelph.Beer is about harnessing that diversity and working together as an industry” says Colton Proveau, Owner & Partner at Brothers Brewing Company.
The Guelph.Beer Bus has seen strong community support and attracted beer lovers from across Ontario. Every year, thousands of people have taken a ride on the Guelph.Beer Bus which has grown in reputation and popularity.

Beer tourism supports over $211 million in economic activity in Ontario each year and Guelph’s breweries have shown that by working together they can make an impact.
“As the hospitality and brewing industry have faced headwinds coming out of the pandemic, projects like the Guelph.Beer Bus have provided a unique opportunity to connect with beer drinkers” says Brad McInerney, Marketing Director at Wellington Brewery.

The Guelph.Beer Bus has two remaining dates on Saturday November 18th and Saturday December 16th before returning again in the spring of 2024.
