Craft Beer Boot Camp - Fall 2020

When we come together to share our beer knowledge we can discover and explore new ways to appreciate and understand beer.
Over the years beer education has been a hugely important part of what we do as a brewery. From the incredible Queen of Craft community to beer samplings, brewery tours, beer dinners, and festivals, we've always found ways to introduce beer drinkers (and even non beer drinkers) to the world of craft beer. And while this year has been challenging, it's also pushed us to find new ways to connect. So this fall, we’re going to be hosting a free online Craft Beer Boot Camp.
The Craft Beer Boot Camp will bring people together to safely share in a guided craft beer experience from the comfort of your home. Over 4 Wednesdays in November we’ll host 4 interactive sessions covering a wide range of topics. Each free virtual session will be hosted on Zoom by the talented and knowledgeable team at our brewery.
Here’s what we’ve got planned:
➡️ Session #1: Busting Beer Myths
Wed. November 4th, 2020 - 7pm - Watch Video
Can you really judge a beer by its colour? Does IBU really correspond with bitterness? And does beer really give you a beer belly? Join us as we break down some popular beer myths in this fun and interactive session.

➡️ Session #2: Care-Beers - Beer that makes a difference
Wed. November 11th, 2020 - 7pm - Watch Video
Beer can be a force for good and help raise awareness about social and environmental issues. In this session we’re going to shine a light on some of these community-minded initiatives and fundraising projects that we’ve undertaken as a brewery while showcasing some incredible community work from our fellow craft brewers from across the province.

➡️ Session #3: Beer and Cheese Pairings
Wed. November 18th, 2020 - 7pm
Imbibe. Learn. Taste. Join us and discover the joy of pairing beer and cheese with an interactive tasting session led by cheese expert Jen Whyte and Wellington brewmaster Marvin Dyck. This virtual class will explore the concepts behind cheese pairings and include a guided tasting of 3 tasty cheese pairings.

➡️ Session #4: UVB-76 Tasting
Wed. November 25th, 2020 - 7pm - Watch Video
Our UVB-76 barrel-aged imperial stout series has won national awards and featured creative flavour combinations with different approaches to brewing and barrel aging. Wellington brewer, and mastermind behind the UVB-76 series, Jeff Wilson will host a guided sampling of our 2020 UVB-76 series and host an interactive Q&A session.

We will be posting the zoom links very soon to each session here so you can join us, no need to register in advance. Each week we will also provide a list of suggested beers so you can sample along with each session.
