How our Local To-Door Delivery Works

March 15, 2020

We hope that you are keeping safe and healthy during these challenging times. We’ve had a lot of people asking how our free local to-door home delivery is working so we wanted to share some details and hopefully answer your questions. Please note that our to-door home delivery is “no contact” and will maintain appropriate social distancing. Here some answers to your questions...

How can I get my order delivered for free?

Currently we are offering free delivery on orders of $75 or more from our online store to people in Guelph, Kitchener-Waterloo, Cambridge, Elora, Fergus, and Rockwood.  At this point we’re focused on supplying our local region, we’d love to be able to provide this delivery service across Ontario but at the moment we can only manage to cover our local region. The specific areas included are:

If you place an order to be delivered outside of this area and select free local shipping, we will not be able to accommodate delivery and may need to cancel your order or ask you to pick up your order from our Welly Walk-up Window.

How fast will my order arrive?

Orders placed before 12pm noon will be delivered by 7pm the following day. So for example, if you put your order in at 11:45am on Monday, we’ll get you your order by 7pm on Tuesday at the latest. If you order past the noon deadline, let’s say 12:45pm on Monday, we’ll get your delivery to you by 7pm on Wednesday. It’s possible you’ll see your order the same day (if placed before noon) but we can’t guarantee same day delivery. When your beer is going out for delivery, you’ll get an email with details, and a text message from our driver.

How does the actual delivery work?

The home delivery window will be between 1 and 6pm, 7 days a week. When your order is leaving the brewery, you will get a message from our delivery driver and they will follow up again before your drop off time.

This will be “no contact” delivery but we will need someone of legal age to be home to receive the order. Please meet our driver at the entrance (front door, lobby, porch, etc) and be prepared to show proof of identity / age (from a distance). Our drivers will be maintaining appropriate social distance, so please be respectful of this space and be prepared to show an ID through a window or from a safe distance.

What if I can’t be home to receive the delivery?

We will only be able to make one delivery attempt. If you are unable to be home, please let us know as soon as you hear from our driver. If we do not hear from you, your order will go back to the brewery for pick up.

What are my options if I’m outside this delivery zone?

LCBO, Beer Store, and Grocery store locations across Ontario remain open with modified hours. We are also still shipping beer anywhere in Ontario outside of this zone but regular Canada Post shipping rates will apply and at the moment Canada Post are not delivering packages to residential addresses which require a signature (including all beer), so you will need to pick your order up at your local post office location.

If you are looking for home delivery and you are outside of our delivery zone, you could consider giving your support to another local craft brewer in your area who are offering home delivery.

And don’t forget, we can also have your beer available for pick up from Welly Walk-Up Window at our brewery. Our window is open for pick up 11am-6pm every day except Tuesday. When you arrive please be prepared to show your ID and order confirmation through the window.

Our main priority with our to-door home delivery service is to ensure the health and safety of our drivers and everyone in our community. Please be respectful of social distancing and don’t hesitate to shoot us an email or give us a call at 519-837-2337 if you have any questions.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding with us as we work together to make it through this. As you know, Covid-19 is already having a massive impact on small businesses and workers in Ontario, especially in the brewing and hospitality industry. So thanks to everyone who has gone out of their way to help support independent local businesses like ours, it really means a lot right now.

Please be safe and thanks from the entire Welly family
