Together We Raised $1,045 for Movember Canada!
December 6, 2021
For the second year in a row, we worked with Jeff Morrison to raise funds for Movember Canada and support the important work they do to raise awareness about men's mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.
With the return of our Pencil Thin Lite Lager, fifty cents from the sale of each can went to Movember Canada, for a total of $1,045 raised. We want to thank everyone who came out to the beer release party, and all those who purchased the brew for your support!
Why is Movember fundraising so important?
The world loses one man to suicide every minute of every day. Movember’s goal is to save more men’s lives. For that to happen, we need to start conversations about mental health early. Movember’s mental health and suicide prevention programs are designed to promote mental wellbeing, connection, open conversation, and to teach resilience during the critical developmental period of adolescence.
Launched in 2020, the Movember Social Connections Challenge (SCC) is aimed at identifying strategies that will strengthen the social connections of men who are struggling with isolation and poor mental health, particularly in the wake of COVID-19 lockdowns.
Thousands of men worldwide will soon trial a home test kit for prostate cancer – thanks to pioneering research funded by Movember. Early detection is key!
