We Raised $27,233 in 2022 for Community Causes!

January 9, 2023

fundraising2022In 2022, we set some ambitious goals to help raise funds for charities and community causes that align with our company vision and values. And while it was a year full of challenges and twists and turns, we were grateful to be able to support some great organizations making an impact in the community.

With a fresh new year upon us, we’re taking a moment to look back at some of our fundraising projects in 2022, as we make plans to build on this work in the year ahead. Thanks to everyone who helped us raise funds and support these important causes!

$19,590 for Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis from Queen of Craft

Queen of Craft returned with in-person events in May 2022. These sold-out beer education events helped raise funds along with a series of fundraising beers including: Queen of Craft IPA, Sumac Skies Golden Ale, Spice Odyssey Chai Latte Stout, and more. All of these initiatives helped raise a record-breaking $19,590 for Guelph Wellington Women In Crisis. The organization saw an influx of women and children in need of shelter and support over this past year and we are thrilled to be able to help fund the work they do for our community.

$2,136 for Guelph Pride

Our Pride 2022 fundraising resulted in a $2,136 donation to Guelph Pride from the sale of Sunshine Blonde Ale. We look forward to working with the great folks of Guelph Pride again this year, and will be doing a province-wide LCBO release of this fantastic beer in the spring.  Keep your eyes peeled!

Pints for Ukraine raised $1,420

In April, we donated $1 from each pint sold in our Tap Room to raise funds for the Red Cross Humanitarian Relief Effort in Ukraine. Thanks to all of our thirsty patrons who helped support a very important cause.

Supporting the Grove Hubs for youth mental health with $1,076

The Grove Hubs are safe spaces where youth are empowered to take the lead in their own mental health and wellness journey. Located in Erin, Fergus, Palmerston and Guelph, these centres create safe spaces for folks between the ages of 12-26, and we're thrilled to have raised $1,076 from Welly Cask Fest donation as well as the Craft Beer Bonspiel for the cause.

Together we raised $1,026 for Movember Canada

For the third year in a row, we worked with Jeff Morrison to raise funds for Movember Canada and support the important work they do to raise awareness about men's mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer. With the return of our Pencil Thin Lite Lager, fifty cents from the sale of each can went to Movember Canada, for a total of $1,026 raised. We want to thank everyone who came out to the beer release party, and all those who purchased the brew, for your support! We will continue to support the cause in 2023.

Thank you for your donations: $798 for the Guelph Food Bank

For the month of December, we offered a donation button for the Guelph Food Bank for online orders and raised $798 for the important work they do to keep Guelph individuals and families fed during an incredibly tenuous time, with inflation and grocery store prices skyrocketing.  Please consider donating non-perishable items, money, or volunteer time to this vital community organization.

Royal City Science x Welly raise $724

We teamed up with the folks at Royal City Science to brew a space-themed beer! Fifty cents from each can of Dark Matter Quantum Lager was donated to Royal City Science, a local charity run by science-lovers with the ultimate goal of building Guelph’s very own brick-and-mortar science playground to enhance STEM education for our community for generations to come.

Pupside pints generate $315 for Tango's Lead Dog Rescue

Doggone-it, we love pups around here. Our Pupside Pints initiative raised $315 for Tango’s Lead Dog Rescue and even resulted in one of our staff members adopting the most adorable puppy to add to her lovely family! Bring your doggos to our tap room, we simply can't get enough!

Drag Bingo donations total $150 for Arch

Thank you for attending the incredibly fun Bingo night with the fantastic Crystal Quartz!  With your help, we raised $150 for ARCH, an organization that  provides programs, services, education and support to people living with, affected by, and at risk of, HIV and AIDS in Guelph, Wellington County, Dufferin, Grey and Bruce Counties.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to these fundraising efforts by choosing to buy a fundraising beer, taking part in our events, or popping by our tap room for a pint. Your support helped make this happen.

With the ongoing support of our dedicated staff and awesome customers, we are working together to strengthen our community and we’re looking forward to making an impact in 2023 and beyond. Cheers!
