Welly Cask Fest - September 10th & 11th, 2016: Casks, Food Trucks, Live Music, and more!
September 1, 2016
After the success of last year's THIRTY Cask Festival, Wellington Brewery will be hosting another cask festival this September. Welly Cask Fest will bring craft beer fans together to raise a glass and celebrate the rich history of cask beer in Ontario.
On the weekend of September 10th and 11th 2016, Wellington Brewery will host a two-day cask beer festival outside under large tents in the parking lot at the brewery. The weekend festivities will feature 25+ cask beers and ciders, food trucks, and live music. Each session will showcase unique Welly One-Off casks and collaboration beers alongside a well-curated selection of guest casks from Ontario Craft Brewers and cider makers.
Wellington Brewery was one of the first modern brewers in North America to produce traditional cask-conditioned ales which are unfiltered, unpasteurized, and naturally carbonated. Welly Cask Fest is an opportunity to celebrate all things cask while sampling some traditional styles of beer alongside a selection of unique small-batch brews and ciders.
Welly Cask Fest will also mark the brewery's 31st birthday and will coincide with the completion of a major expansion which has been ongoing over the past year and a half. The event will include guided tours of the brewery expansion with the first open to the public look at their new 40 HL brew house and world-class packaging line.
"It's been a challenging year for us at the brewery with a lot of changes but we're optimistic about the future and looking forward to bringing together our friends, family, and craft beer drinkers to celebrate" says Wellington Brewery Vice-President Brent Davies.
Welly Cask Fest will feature 3 sessions: two sessions on Saturday, September 10th, 2016 and one session on Sunday, September 11th, 2016. Tickets for each session are $20 + service charge and are available now via Ticketfly. Each ticket includes an 8oz sampling glass, 4 x 4oz drink tokens, and local shuttle bus transportation.
A portion of the proceeds from Welly Cask Fest will go to support the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington. Further details about the event including performers, cask lineup, and more will be announced in the coming weeks. Tickets and more details are available at www.wellycaskfest.com
